Jamie Wolfe is an animation director, artist, and educator living and working in Los Angeles, California. Wild hand-drawn lines & bold pallets collide in her animations and drawings to build offbeat, high-energy worlds. Through her frenetic characters, she seeks to tap into the raw volcanic energy that simmers within all of us. Her short films & music videos, which have screened at festivals and galleries globally including Animafest Zagreb, Fest Anča, and Ottawa International Animation Festival.
She’s been commissioned to make animation for places like Apple, The New York Times, Gucci, and Giphy, and has collaborated with musicians like The Rolling Stones, King Krule, The Local Natives, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
Currently, she splits her time between working on her upcoming graphic novel, freelance animating, and teaching as a visiting faculty member at CalArts, where she lectures about drawn animation, experimental characters, loops & repetition, and everything in-between.
